Press Space to spin
Press Space to spin
Scrolling streaming menus for half an hour is a familiar way to spend movie night. The movie picker cuts it short: put genres or actual titles on the wheel, spin, and press play.
Start with the genre defaults if you are browsing, or fill the wheel with your watchlist when the problem is too many good options rather than none.
Everyone in the room adds two or three films they would happily watch, one per line. Remove anything that gets a firm no. Spin once and the result is tonight's film. It keeps the choice fair between people with very different taste, and it gets the films you saved months ago off the list at last.
For a series of movie nights, such as a horror month or working through a franchise, turn on auto-remove. Each film leaves the wheel once chosen, and the wheel is saved in your browser between evenings.
When the list of possible films is huge, do it in two spins: genre first using the defaults, then a quick wheel of three to five titles from that genre. Two small choices are much easier than one enormous one.
Add movie titles or genres (one per line)—e.g. "The Matrix" or "90s comedies." Click the wheel to spin. Seen it? Remove it and spin again for the next pick.
Add your options and spin. Each movie or genre has an equal chance. Uses cryptographic randomness. Perfect for when you're stuck between too many choices.
Mathematically Fair Results
No. It picks from the genres or titles you add. That way it only lands on films you would actually watch.
Yes. Replace the entries with shows, games or anything else. The wheel treats every line the same way.
Turn on auto-remove in the winner window, or delete the line after you have watched it.
You can add an image to individual segments in Customize. Keep them simple, because segments get small on a busy wheel.
