Prize Wheel

A spin-to-win prize wheel for stalls, shop counters, parties and team events. Fill the segments with prizes and a few Try Again slots, then let each person spin for what they get.

The part that takes thought is the balance between prizes and empty slots. Get it right and the wheel feels generous without giving away the stock in the first hour.

Setting the odds before you open

Every segment is the same size, so the odds come straight from how many times each item appears. With ten segments, a prize entered once has a one-in-ten chance on every spin, and a Try Again entered four times has a four-in-ten chance.

Work back from your stock. If you have 5 grand prizes and expect around 200 spins, they need to come up roughly once in 40 spins, so a wheel of ten segments with the grand prize on one segment will run out far too soon. Put small, plentiful prizes on several segments, keep the big prize on one, and pad with Try Again until the numbers match what you can give away.

Running it at a stall or counter

A tablet or laptop facing the customer works well: they tap to spin and see the result themselves. Pick a color scheme that matches your stand, add your logo as the center image, and set a spin of five to eight seconds so it feels like an event without holding up the queue.

When a prize runs out, delete one of its lines. The remaining odds adjust at once, and the Results tab shows what has been won so far during the session.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make the big prize rare?

Enter it once and add more segments of small prizes and Try Again. The bigger the wheel, the rarer a single segment becomes.

Can I put my logo on the wheel?

Yes. In Customize you can set an image for the center of the wheel, and add images to individual segments.

What happens when a prize runs out?

Remove its line from the entries panel, or use the Remove button in the winner window when it is won. It will not come up again.

Do I need to check the rules for promotions?

Spin-to-win promotions can be regulated depending on where you are and whether people pay to play. Check what applies locally before using it for a commercial campaign.
